Learn Online with Leading Agroforestry Experts

Fernando Rebello
Senior Instructor

With a unique background combining Biology and Agronomic Engineering, he works to integrate these sciences, which are essential for understanding and managing the complexity of agroecosystems, while persistently seeking a simple way to explain complex concepts. His guiding maxim is Leonardo da Vinci’s phrase: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” making complex ideas accessible to farmers, students, and other professionals.

His career is marked by the pursuit of an agricultural model that not only produces food but also regenerates the soil, strengthens biodiversity, and ensures long-term economic and ecological sustainability.

Ernst Götsch
Senior Instructor

Ernst Götsch is a Swiss farmer, researcher, and eco-philosopher who has lived in southern Bahia, Brazil since the mid-eighties, where he developed the concept and practice of Syntropic Agriculture — an agroforestry system based on ecological succession, species diversity, and the regeneration of soil, water sources, and ecosystems.

Born in 1948 in Raperswilen, Switzerland, he left his work in genetic improvement to dedicate himself to researching cultivation methods that promote soil and plant health in harmony with natural processes. In doing so, he redefined the concept of agriculture, transforming it from an extractive activity into a process of life creation and regeneration on both small and large scales.

His methodology has been applied in numerous countries across the Americas, Europe, and Africa, and Götsch continues to work as a consultant and trainer for farmers and institutions.

Roger Gietzen
Senior Instructor

Roger Gietzen is a physician, humanitarian, and syntropic agroforestry teacher. Since 2016, he has been bringing syntropic agroforestry to Haiti, learning from leading practitioners like Ernst Götsch, and creating practical solutions for food security, soil regeneration, and biodiversity.

Passionate about making regenerative farming accessible to family farmers worldwide, Roger developed an educational program that simplifies complex agroforestry practices. He believes that sharing knowledge and nurturing a global community of regenerative practitioners is one of the most powerful ways to create a better future for our planet.
Jurandi Oliveira
Senior Instructor

Jurandi Anunciação de Oliveira is a reference name when it comes to syntropic agroforestry in Brazil. More than just a technician, Jurandi is a hands-on farmer whose work is the living embodiment of the knowledge he teaches. With a career that bridges traditional and scientific knowledge, he has established himself as one of the main promoters and implementers of syntropic agroforestry in the Caatinga biome (a semi-arid region of Brazil).

His work is a living example of how degraded lands can be transformed into abundant, biodiverse, and economically viable productive systems.

Lidiano Lourenço
Senior Instructor

Lidiano Lourenço has been a farmer since the late 1990s in the Sierra de Baturité, Ceará, Brazil, and is a highly skilled professional in chainsaw work. With experience using chainsaws since 2010, he has mastered the key techniques and principles of tree pruning at height and safe tree felling, always prioritizing safety for himself and the surrounding plants. Lidiano brings practical, hands-on expertise to his teaching, helping learners gain the skills and confidence to work effectively and safely in agroforestry and forest management.
